Shri Suktam is a Vedic chant or a song recitation which is devoted to the Goddess Laxmi Mata who symbolizes wealth, prosperity, richness in all aspects of life and fortune. Vedbaadhar is one of the most lovable and often chanted hymns in the planet of Vedic and Hindu mythology.
श्री सूक्तम (ऋग्वेद) Shri Suktam
ॐ हिरण्यवर्णां हरिणीं,
सुवर्णरजतस्त्रजाम्, चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं, जातवेदो म आ वह।
तां म आ वह जातवेदो, लक्ष्मीमनपगामिनीम्, यस्यां हिरण्यं विन्देयं, गामश्वं पुरूषानहम।
अश्वपूर्वां रथमध्यां, हस्तिनादप्रमोदिनीम्, श्रियं देवीमुप ह्वये, श्रीर्मा देवी जुषताम्।
The Shri Suktam is a Vedic hymn taken from the Rigveda which is devoted to the deity of wealth, prosperity and good fortune –Lakshmi. It glorifies Lakshmi as the goddess of fortune and utilises adjectives such as beautiful, bright and graceful to refer to her in the hymn. The hymn also requests her to destroy the enemies and bless one with wealth and devotion on the right path which is the path of good deeds. It is said that the chanting of the Shri Suktam can help one get material prosperity and spiritual well being, sever negative vibes and lead the chanter to success and contentment.

अश्वयुजा पूर्णिमा विश्वाक्सेना समन्विता।
Ashwayuja Purnima Vishvak sena Samanvita। The goddess Lakshmi is worshiped during the full moon of the month of Ashwayuja and accompanied by the celestial army.
यः शुचिः प्रणवज्जज्ज्ञो विश्वव्यच्छाति धीमहि।
वर्धत्कामः कामदान्तः श्रीमान् प्रभुरन्वशतु॥२॥
Yah Shuchih Pranavajjajjno Vishwavyachhati Dhimahi। Vardhatkamah Kamadantah Shreeman Prabhuranvashatu॥2॥ May the all-knowing, pure and radiant Lord, who bestows all desires and grants prosperity, bless us.
हिरण्यवर्णां हरिणीं सुवर्णरजतस्रजाम्।
चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो म आवह।।३।।
Hiranyavarnam Harinim Suvarna-rajatasrajam। Chandram Hiranmayim Lakshmim Jatavedo Ma Avaha।।3।। May the Jataveda (the knower of all knowledge) invoke the goddess Lakshmi, who shines with the radiance of gold, silver and jewels, and who is adorned with a garland of lotuses.
तां म आ वह जातवेदो, लक्ष्मीमनपगामिनीम्, यस्यां हिरण्यं विन्देयं, गामश्वं पुरूषानहम।
Tam Ma Avaha Jatavedo Lakshmim Anapagaaminim। Yasyam Hiranyam Prabhutam Gavoh Pasus Chhagam Suvarnapadibhih॥4॥ May the all-knowing Jataveda (Vedic fire) invoke Lakshmi, who is always moving and never stays in one place, and who is adorned with gold and other precious ornaments.
Ashwapurvam Rathamadhyam Hastinadaprabodhinim। Shriyam Devimupahvaye Shriirma Devih Jushtam।।5।। May the divine goddess Lakshmi, who is like a chariot that moves forward with speed, and who awakens the power of elephants, be invoked by me. May she reside in my home and bring good fortune and prosperity.
Kamastadagre Samavartatadhi Manaso Retah Prathamam Yadaste। Jayastadagre Bhavati Prajapatistadvipraso Vipanyuh Purveha Vishvam।।6।। The goddess Lakshmi is the foremost among those who bestow wealth and prosperity. She is the first and foremost thought in the mind of the creator, Prajapati. She is the cause of victory and success, and the wise sages and scholars worship her.
Apah Srijantu Snigdhani Chikleeta Vasame Girih। Agnirdadhata Varchasi Yo’shvinau Savita Yajoomshi।।7।। May the waters, who are the mothers of all creation, create auspiciousness for me, and may the fire of purification, along with the energy of the sun and the moon, protect and nourish me.
Tam Ma Avaha Jatavedo Lakshmim Anapagaaminim। Yasyam Hiranyam Prabhutam Gavoh Pasus Chhagam Suvarnapadibhih॥4॥
May Jataveda (the Vedic fire) invoke for me Lakshmi, who is unperturbed, who moves about from place to place, and who is endowed with the great wealth of gold and cattle.
I invoke Lakshmi, who rides a horse and a chariot, who is awakened by the trumpeting of elephants, and who is endowed with the wealth of prosperity. May she come and reside in my home, bringing with her good fortune and happiness.
Lakshmi is the desire of the mind, and she is the first thing that is sought by the creator when he creates. She is the source of prosperity and success, and the wise sages and scholars worship her for the well-being of the universe.
May the waters create in me the power of attraction and charm, may the mountains make my abode firm and stable, may Agni (the god of fire) give me the brilliance and radiance, and may the divine twin Aswins and the all-knowing Savitri grant me success in all my endeavors.
Lakshmi is the supreme reality, who transcends the limitations of time and space, who is present in the smallest of atoms and in the vast expanse of the universe. She is the radiant manifestation of the ultimate reality, and the entire universe is born from her.
स जातो अतिथिः पूतः स विष्णुः लोकमेश्वरः। तं त्वा श्रीः प्रणमाम्यहम्।।९।।
Sa Jato Atithih Pootah Sa Vishnur Lokamishvarah। Tam Tva Shrih Pranamamyaham।।9।।
She is the divine guest who has come to our home, who purifies us and removes all the impurities and negativities. She is Vishnu, the lord of the universe, who sustains and protects the world. I bow down to you, O Lakshmi, the embodiment of auspiciousness and prosperity.
