मलय एप्पल एक फल का नाम है। मलय सेव बहुत पौष्टिक फल है। यह फल लाल रंग का होता है। इसका स्वाद कुछ खट्टा और मीठा होता है। मलय सेव में फ्लैवोनाइड्स एवं फेनालिक एसिड होने के कारण यह अस्थमा में लाभकारी होता है। गठिया विकार में भी मलय एप्पल लाभकारी होता है। मलय एप्प्ल में सोडियम और पोटेशियम होने के कारण यह हृदय के लिए भी लाभकारी होता है।

The Malay apple tree grows quickly, reaching 40 to 60 feet (12-18 metres) in height, with an erect trunk up to 15 feet (4.5 metres) in circumference and a pyramidal or cylindrical crown. Its opposite, short-petioled, elliptic-lanceolate or oblanceolate leaves are soft-leathery, dark-green and fairly glossy on the upper surface, paler beneath; 6 to 18 in (15-45 cm) long, 3 1/2 to 8 in (9-20 cm) wide. The veins are indistinct above, but the pale midrib and veins are visible on the underside. At first, new growth is wine-red, then turns pink-buff.

The Malay apple or Syzygium malaccense or also called mountain apple is a tropical fruit from south-east Asia and Pacific Islands. Acording to its appearance, it is red or pink-shining with crunchy, palatable white flesh that is slightly sweet. The fruit is pear shaped and the flesh is akin to that eaten in apples of medium sweetish variety with a flavor that hints of flowers. Malay apples are best eaten as fruits while it is also used in salads, in the preparation of jams or jellies. The fruit contains lots of vitamins: A and C, it is fibrous and has antioxidants properties, thus makes a good, healthy fruit, and can help one make a break from water. I also found out that the tree has aesthetic benefits in that it has attractive foliage and stinks with nice flowers to add to the quality of the surrounding environment.
