The flute bearing Krishna, said to be the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, is most popular of all the Deities. One of his many facets and the most revered is that of the Divine Lover. Known by a myriad of names, to most Hindus he is the God himself, the Supreme Being, the Absolute, the Brahman. Of all the Vishnu avatars, he is the most popular, and perhaps of all Hindu Gods the one closest to the heart of the masses.
