The family Sapotaceae contains Mimosp, a number of trees among which there is Mimusops elengi which is also called Spanish cherry or Bakul or Bulletwood. Cable these trees originate from the tropics they are a source of both ornamental flowers and fruits that are ready for consumption. They are small, sweet, and are similar in appearance to berries and are eaten raw while the flowers of the plant are used in folk medicine to cure diseases that relate to the mouth as well as digestive diseases. Mimusops has trees that have hardwood which is used in construction as well as the manufacture of furniture. In other cultures, Mimusops trees are, however, considered to be beautiful and provide shade too.
