सिंघाड़ा (Singhara) को अंग्रेजी (इंग्लिश) में Water Caltrop (वाटर केल्टरोप) कहते हैं. सिंघाड़ा (Singhara) हिंदी भाषा का शब्द है जिससे सबंधित अन्य जानकारी और अर्थ निचे दिया गया है। 

सिंघाड़ा एक फल का नाम है। सिंघाड़ा या 'सिंघाण' को संस्कृत में शृंगाटक कहते हैं। यह एक तिकोने आकर का फल होता है। इसके बाहरी आवरण को छील कर इसके गूदे को खाया जाता है या सूखा कर इसका इसका इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। अंग्रेजी भाषा में यह Water caltrop, Water Chestnut आदि नामों से भी जाना जाता है। आयुर्वेद में सिंघाड़ा को शीतल, भारी कसैला वीर्यवर्द्घक, मलरोधक, वातकारक तथा रुधिरविकार और त्रिदोष को दूर करनेवाला कहा गया है।
सिंघाड़ा (shingada) का वानास्पतिक नाम Trapa natans Linn. var-bispinosa (Roxb.) Makino (ट्रापा नटान्स किस्म-बाइस्पाइनोसा) Syn-Trapa bispinosaRoxb होता है। सिंघाड़ा का कुल Onagraceae (ओनाग्रेसी) है। सिंघाड़ा को अंग्रेज़ी में  Water caltrops (वॉटर केलट्रॉपस्) बोला जाता है। सिंघाड़ा को संस्कृत में शृङ्गाटक, जलफल, त्रिकोणफल, पानीयफल कहते हैं।

Water caltrop or Trapa bicornis or the water chestnut plant is a water plant that bears an edible seed which can be eaten like nuts with some crunch to it and a starchy taste. The seeds vary in color and are mostly black or dark brown, and its shape is with resemblance to the water chestnut or the horn nut. It is common to fixes in Asians such as Chinese, Thai, and Indian foods and are a part of soups, stir frying and snacks. Zizyphus nummularia seeds are slightly sweetish in taste and crispy nutlike part of water caltrop is known as an outstanding source of protein, fiber and minerals.
