This automatically puts the Guru at a position of authority that guides the disciple to attain the divine. Finally, Kabir bows before the Guru with gratitude and prostrates himself to show level of respect to the Guru realizing that without the intervention of the Guru, he had not been able to achieve the partnership with the divine.

Meaning in Hindi : इस दोहे मे कबीर साहेब ने गुरु की महिमा का गुणगान किया है। गुरु के सानिध्य के बगैर कोई भी संसार के सागर को पार नहीं कर सकता। वे माया के भ्रम में ही उलझ कर रह जाते हैं "अगर दोनों, गुरु और भगवान (गोविंद) प्रकट हो गए हैं तो किसके पैरों का वंदन किया जाय" इस पर कबीर साहेब की वाणी है की सर्वप्रथम गुरु की चरण वंदना की जानी चाहिए, जिन्होंने भक्त पर कृपा करके गोविन्द से मिलवा दिया है।

Kabir Das popularly known as Sant Kabir or Bhagat Kabir was one of the most famous mystic poets of 15th century in India. He actively contributed to the Bhakti movement that was a popular movement that mainly focused on devotion and love and was devoted to the almighty. The impact of the teachings that one finds in the Kabir’s verses continues to resonate in the spiritual and philosophical facets of India.
It is postulated that Kabir was born in a Muslim family to which he was also educated in Islam but he was a great follower of Hindu saint bhakti Bhagat Ramananda. In many of his poems we are able to find elements of both Hindu and Islam mixed in one poetry. He depicted his emotions in his verses and these were normally general spiritual feelings that cut across the various religions.
