नीम्बू को अंग्रेजी (इंग्लिश) में Lemon कहते हैं. नीम्बू हिंदी भाषा का शब्द है जिससे सबंधित अन्य जानकारी और अर्थ निचे दिया गया है।

नीम्बू या नीम्बू पानी (nimbu pani in hindi) से हम सभी भली भाँती परिचित हैं। नीम्बू गोल आकार का एक फल है जिसका उपयोग रस निकाल कर सेवन करने में किया जाता है। नीम्बू को अचार में भी उपयोग किया जाता है।

Swingle, Syn-Citrus medica Linn. var. acida Hook.f.) है तथा नीम्बू  यह रूटेसी (Rutaceae) कुल से सबंधित पादप है।

संस्कृत में नीम्बू को बृहत् जम्बीर, निम्बुक कहते हैं और अंग्रेजी में इसके नाम बीटर ऑरेंज (Bitter orange), बीगेरेड ऑरेंज (Bigarade orange), Seville orange (सेवील्ले ऑरेंज), लाइम (Lime), सॉर ऑरेंज (Sour orange) आदि हैं।

• नीबू से गर्मी से बचाव होता है और नीम्बू पानी से विटामिन सी की प्राप्ति होती है।
• मुंह में नीम्बू को चूसने ले मसूड़ों सबंधी विकार दूर होते हैं।
• शहद को नीम्बू के रस के साथ कील मुहासों पर लगाने से त्वचा विकार दूर होते हैं।
• नीम्बू में थियामिन, रिबोफ्लोविन, नियासिन, विटामिन बी- 6, फोलेट और विटामिन-ई जैसे तत्व होते हैं।
• पाचन तंत्र के लिए नीम्बू का सेवन लाभकारी होता है।
